Who is Jesus?

“I am the Way, the Truth and the Life”

Jesus is God in the flesh! He is both our Lord and Saviour. He experienced life on earth just like we do today; He felt pain, He suffered and He was also put to the test. Unlike us, though, He was perfect. And yet God’s plan was for him to die for us on the cross: "God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."(Romans 5:8). Jesus died to take away the punishment of our sin for all those who put their trust and faith in Him.

And the great news is that Jesus did not stay dead! "Christ died for our sins...He was buried...He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures...He appeared to Peter, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than 500..." (1 Corinthians 15:3-6). Jesus is alive today and with us to the end.

What does it mean to be a Christian?
Being a Christian means to put your trust and faith in Jesus Christ, believing that he died for your sins and rose again and reigns forever. It means admitting that you can’t earn your way to heaven, and trusting that Jesus is the way: "By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9).

To be a Christian means to live a risen life of love and devotion for Jesus, enjoying the sure hope of eternal life with him. We do not need to fear death, because we are alive in Christ!

I am still not sure
That's ok! Speak to one of our staff members, and/or sign up for our 321 course to learn more about how to get to know God.

How do I become a Christian?
If you’re ready, you can receive Christ right now by praying, which is just talking to God.

We have a heavenly Father who wants to hear from us. He knows your heart and is not concerned with your words, but rather if you truly believe in your heart that Christ is Lord.

So here are some words you could pray, and when you’ve finished, please do let us know you’ve made this exciting commitment:
"Lord Jesus, I need You. I know you died on the cross to save me from my sins and for that I am truly thankful. I am sorry I fall short of your ways to sin. Please be with me and help me to live a life that is pleasing to you. Please help me to have a relationship with you and make me the kind of person you want me to be. I commit my life to you and, with your help and the help of the Holy Spirit, will put you at the centre of my life in everything that I do. Thank you God. Amen".

Whether or not you’ve taken the step of praying, we’d still love to hear from you and help you on your journey.
