Parenting Teens through Mental Health
Teens are faced with all kinds of pressures from within and without. We are seeing unprecedented numbers of teens struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and self-harm. How can parents be aware and equipped for parenting our teens for their mental health, and what resources and steps are there to seek help?
Parenting Teens through Social Media and Porn
Our government has recognised the huge impact social media is having on the wellbeing of teenagers, especially girls. There is likewise a growing body of evidence for the special harms to teenagers of exposure to pornography. How can parents be aware and equipped for these challenges?
Our guest speaker is Marshall Ballantine-Jones who speaks regularly in schools and created both the Digihelp school curriculum and the Resist Recovery Program.
Parenting Teens through managing their devices
Technology is moving so quickly it’s hard for parents to keep up with what their teens have access to and what means there are to both protect them and empower them to manage their device use responsibly.
Our speaker is Jon Guyer, who is a parent, a pastor, and former IT consultant. Jon will explain the different types of device and how parents can monitor and limit access in various ways in line with our household values as well as help teens take responsibility for their own usage.
