Parenting Teens through Social Media and Porn
Our government has recognised the huge impact social media is having on the wellbeing of teenagers, especially girls. There is likewise a growing body of evidence for the special harms to teenagers of exposure to pornography. How can parents be aware and equipped for these challenges?
Our guest speaker is Marshall Ballantine-Jones, researcher, speaker, publisher, and thought leader in online sexualised media and adolescent relationships.
Parenting Teens through Mental Health
Teens are faced with all kinds of pressures from within and without. We are seeing unprecedented numbers of teens struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and self-harm. How can parents be aware and equipped for parenting our teens for their mental health, and what resources and steps are there to seek help?
Our guest speaker is Jessica Ferguson, a registered psychotherapist and accredited Mental Health First Aid trainer who specialises in educating and equipping adults who support young people. With a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy and Counselling and professional experience across schools, community programs, and private practice, she brings strong clinical insight to every training she delivers.
